The Summit’s main program for all sessions, including panels, runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Individual presentation sessions will be 35 minutes in length, which includes time for Q&A at the end. Training day sessions will be held on Monday.
The API Summit is the only networking event for inspectors and other inspection support professionals in the industry. As stated by attendees, “The API Summit is the best inspection related conference in the petroleum industry”.

Robert Bryce

Robert Bryce is an author, podcaster, and film producer. He has been writing about energy, power, politics, and innovation for more than three decades. Bryce is the author of six books including most recently, A Question of Power: Electricity and the Wealth of Nations.
He has given more than 450 invited or keynote lectures to groups ranging from the Marines Corps War College to the Sydney Institute as well as to a wide variety of associations, universities, and corporations. He is the host of the Power Hungry Podcast and the executive producer of the feature-length documentary: Juice: How Electricity Explains the World, which is available on numerous streaming platforms.
He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Lorin, who is an art teacher, photographer, and master potter.
The Energy Transition…What Energy Transition?
Politicians, climate activists, and media outlets are claiming that an “energy transition” is underway and that one day soon, our economy will be fueled solely by renewable sources like wind and solar. Well-funded advocacy groups are pushing regulations to ban natural gas and “electrify everything,” including our cars and trucks. In this talk, author, podcaster, and film producer Robert Bryce will deliver a sober look at the energy transition. He will discuss the labor, land use, and geo-political barriers to these all-renewable schemes and explain why energy transitions occur over decades, not years. He will show why hydrocarbons will continue powering our economy for decades to come and provide ideas and numbers that will help industry leaders prepare for the future.

Avoid Housing Scams
Note: API has not contracted with any third party for hotel arrangements and will not call or email you directly to make housing arrangements on your behalf.
Should you receive a call or email from a third-party provider, please collect as much information as you can and let us know immediately. “Room Poachers” have been known to act as representatives of API, or authorized providers of API, to offer room discounts or alternative accommodations to our attendees – often to the attendee’s detriment. These companies are not affiliated with API, and reservations made through these companies for our meeting cannot be guaranteed.
How It Works
This deceptive practice (called “room poaching”) is carried out by third‐party companies that act as travel agencies, wholesalers, or even API to solicit registrants for room reservations. The poacher might inform registrants that the hotel room block is “sold out,” and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room. Room poachers make it more difficult for us to meet our room block commitments, and expose us to penalties and increased room rates for our events. Room poachers often don’t deliver on promises to customers. When customers arrive, reservations are non‐existent or the hotels are not conveniently located. Sometimes the rooms have been cancelled and hefty cancellation fees have been placed on the customer’s credit card.
Don’t Be Deceived
If you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room for the API Conference, please get as much information as you can (their name, company name, phone number, etc.) and pass it along to [email protected]. Always make your room reservation directly with the information provided by API or a trusted source.
API will use all legal means possible to prevent these groups from operating.
Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
