After a two year break, API is pleased and excited to announce that it will hold the 2022 API Excise Tax Forum in person this year in Houston, Texas.
A comprehensive agenda will ensure that attendees receive the latest and most relevant information on matters of critical importance to their companies and profession. CLE and CPE continuing education credits will be awarded.
Day 1 will cover various motor fuels tax issues including “green” initiatives at the federal and state levels, an update on political developments in Washington, DC, and the reinstatement of the Superfund tax. There will also be an IRS update and state audit roundtables.
Day 2 will cover various state sales and use tax updates and audit discussions as well as an insider look at the current state of the Texas Comptroller’s Office, the evolving tax landscape in the Pacific region of the country, and best practices for new software implementation.
There will be a reception at the end of Day 1.

CPE Credit Information
For purposes of CPE accreditation, the program will be a Group-Live format focused on the Taxes field of study. The sessions will be developed to educate beginning and intermediate levels of industry tax professionals after which participants will have increased their knowledge of current tax issues of specific interest to the industry as well as refreshed their knowledge of broader tax provisions that they might encounter in their work. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation necessary for the Forum and materials will be provided on site. API is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
