The API Storage Tank Conference has been an annual event since 1995. It is considered the only meeting designed for high-level storage tank professionals and has a loyal and dedicated attendee base.
This conference is volunteer driven, both at the planning committee and speaker level. We consistently produce a compelling conference program, with a focus on safety, best practices, and innovation. In addition, the conference provides an opportunity for attendees to earn PDH (Professional Development Hours), maintaining their certifications and required hours. The conference also provides the opportunity for networking and idea exchange, with our dedicated sponsors and exhibitors sharing their latest products and services.

7 PDH (Professional Development Hours) / CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours will be provided for the October 8th API/STI-SPFA Course attendance.14 hours will be provided for the October 20-23, 2025 Conference. Together you can receive up to 21 hours. Attendees will be required to scan their badge at the door which will document how many hours you attend.

As the world continues to focus on reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, it must also manage increasing demand for reliable energy. Against this backdrop, lower carbon solutions such as Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs), and Ammonia as a hydrogen carrier will play a pivotal role in the evolving clean energy transition. Today, energy and industrial companies rely on traditional energy sources while also retrofitting and constructing processing and storage facilities for biofuels and other renewables. They’re actively exploring new energy forms and engineering infrastructure to support liquid natural gas, natural gas liquids, hydrogen, and ammonia.
The API Refrigerated Tanks Conference will focus on both refrigerated and cryogenic storage. It will provide a venue for information sharing specific to this storage, support initiatives towards acceleration of the technology, innovation, mitigation of emissions, and infrastructure advancement.

API-NFPA Safe Tank Entry Workshop

This two-day course is a must for anyone conducting or supervising tank entry. Topics covered include Confined Space Hazard Identification, Classification, and Safe Practices. Also covered are Decommissioning, Hot Work, Repairs, and Inerting. Hands on practice includes Atmospheric Monitoring, Monitoring Devices, Instrument Calibration, and Simulated Testing Scenarios.

The course is designed for operators, inspectors, and engineers who wish to increase their knowledge of field-erected tanks. This new event is geared toward the continuing operation of existing tanks. The event will help those interested in understanding what can be done to identify and address deficiencies in existing tanks and develop an efficient path to a successful evaluation and repair.

With a distinguished career spanning forty years across nuclear power, construction, and refined product midstream and downstream logistics, Joseph “Joe” Sauger stands as an influential figure and a driving force in the realm of pipelines, terminals, and refining within the energy industry. In his current role as COO at Buckeye Partners, Joe’s leadership is defined not only by his immense contribution to the company’s success, but also by his commitment to driving innovation, fostering excellence, and empowering future leaders. His focus on emotional quotient with an emphasis on team building through trust has been a cornerstone of his authentic leadership style.

Session: Signals vs. Noise: Energy Markets and the Economy
Mason Hamilton is the Vice President of Economics and Research at the American Petroleum Institute (API). Mason leads API’s strategy for analysis of energy markets and policy, managing API’s energy markets and policy analysis teams, and communicates to policy makers, media, and the public on energy markets. Mason is a recognized expert in energy market data and the petroleum supply chain.
Prior to joining API, Mason served as Special Assistant to the Secretary General of the International Energy Forum, the world’s largest organization of energy ministers, where he led IEF’s strategy on analysis and engagement. He also previously served as Senior Economic and Policy Advisor within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Oil and Gas. Mason also served as a Lead Petroleum Markets Analyst at the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and was a lead contributor to the EIA’s flagship analysis products This Week in Petroleum, and Today in Energy.
Mason is the recipient of the Secretary of Energy Achievement Award, holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in energy policy, and a BA in political science.

Sponsors and Exhibitors may cancel their obligation up to Friday, August 22, 2025, however, 50% of the fee for Sponsors and for Exhibitors is nonrefundable. Each exhibit booth includes: 10′ black drape behind booth, 3′ black drape between booths, one 6′ x 30″ skirted exhibit table, carpet, two side chairs, and one wastebasket. Room Guarantee and Reservation Cancellation: A credit card guarantee is required to confirm and hold each reservation.
