The 2024 Fall Refining and Equipment (CRE) Standards Meeting is being presented as an in-person meeting and will be open to anyone who wishes to participate. This meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 18 – Friday, November 22, 2024, in Dallas, TX. See the program schedule for details.

The development of consensus standards is one of API’s oldest and most successful programs. It covers over 800 standards for all segments of the oil and natural gas industry. The breadth of this vital program is an important indication of the varied industry contacts that attendees can make during the sessions and networking opportunities.
The Committee on Refining Equipment, CRE, is responsible for approximately 220 standards, including many that form the basis of the API Inspection Program.

The Committee on Refinery Equipment, CRE, is responsible for ~220 standards that form the basis of the API Individual Certification (ICP) and Process Safety Site Assessment (PSSAP) Program. The technical subcommittees that report to the CRE are:

Participation in API standards activities is open to all parties (persons and organizations) that have a direct and material interest in the subject of a standard. - Balance
API seeks broad input to its standardization activities including the participation of all parties representing interest categories appropriate to the nature of the standard and allows for open attendance at standards meetings. - Consensus
API develops industry standards based on consensus. Consensus is established when substantial agreement has been reached by directly and materially interested parties that are voting members of the committee/consensus body.

Deadline for Sponsor and Exhibitor Cancellations and Refunds: Friday, September 20, 2024
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. If you require an invoice, your payment is due thirty (30) days from the receipt of your invoice. Full payment for sponsors and for exhibitors must be received to API no later than Friday, September 20, 2024.
Sponsors and exhibitors may cancel their obligation up to Friday, September 20, 2024. However, 50% of the fee for sponsors and for exhibitors is nonrefundable. Notice of cancellation must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Refunds will not be given on cancellations received after Friday, September 20, 2024.
Application Deadline – Friday, October 18, 2024
Sponsors, if your application is for the sponsorship of items that need to be designed and produced, such as bags, lanyards, etc., please submit your online applications by Friday, October 18, 2024, so that we have time to have those items produced and shipped to Chicago in time for the start of the meeting.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Substitutions:
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing and sent to [email protected] by Friday, October 18, 2024. A $100 administration fee will apply if notice of cancellation is received in writing and sent to [email protected] by Friday, October 18, 2024. No refunds given after Friday, October 18, 2024. Substitutions may be made at any time by written request to [email protected].
Sponsor a First-Time Attendee:
Share your standards expertise with the next generation of oil and natural gas professionals by providing a complimentary registration to a new participant from your company. The cost is complimentary, and your sponsored attendee is welcome to participate in all COPM meetings, except for executive sessions and members only meetings.
To qualify for this complimentary registration option, you must be a new participant and sponsored by a prior API standards meeting participant from your same company. If you are sponsoring someone from your company, that person must be registered under your registration record in Cvent at the time you enter your own registration. You may only register two sponsored attendees.
(NOTE: This option is only applicable to first-time attendees who are sponsored. First-time attendees not sponsored pay applicable registration fees.)
Terms of Participation:
API standards meetings are open to all interested parties. By participating in these meetings and the standardization process, you agree: (1) to fully comply with API’s policies and procedures governing standards and antitrust concerns, (2) that once balloted and approved by API, API shall have a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free worldwide license to use any materials submitted by the participant for use in the standard, including creation of any derivative works that will be solely owned by API, (3) you will not provide any material that will violate the rights of any third parties, including, but not limited to, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and trademarks, (4) not to provide any technical information or other materials that would violate U.S. export control laws, (5) to disclose the existence of any patented technologies in the material that you provide, and (6) you will not make audio recordings, video recordings, or take screen shots of API meetings and content without the express written consent of all persons being recorded and their content being presented.
