#APIStorageTank24
A note to our attendees regarding the cancellation of the 2024 API Storage Tank Conference
Due to the approaching Hurricane Milton and feedback from attendees, exhibitors, and speakers, out of an abundance of caution, we have elected to postpone the 2024 API Storage Tank Conference. The Safe Tank Entry Workshop, API/STI-SPFA Course, and EPA Courses are also cancelled.
The API Storage Tank Conference will occur October 20-23, 2025, at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown in Phoenix, Arizona.
Currently, there is nothing you need to do. All paid fees will be credited to the 2025 Conference. If you would like a refund, we can issue those on request by sending an email to [email protected].
We understand the inconvenience this will cause and appreciate your understanding. Our primary focus is the safety of our attendees. Additional information will be provided this week.
The API Storage Tank Conference has been an annual event since 1995. It is considered the only meeting designed for high-level storage tank professionals, and has a loyal and dedicated attendee base.
This conference is volunteer driven, both at the planning committee and speaker level. We consistently produce a compelling conference program, with a focus on safety, best practices, and innovation. In addition, the conference provides an opportunity for attendees to earn PDH (Professional Development Hours), maintaining their certifications and required hours. The conference also provides the opportunity for networking and idea exchange, with our dedicated sponsors and exhibitors sharing their latest products and services.

As the world continues to focus on reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, it must also manage increasing demand for reliable energy. Against this backdrop, lower carbon solutions such as Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs), and Ammonia as a hydrogen carrier will play a pivotal role in the evolving clean energy transition. Today, energy and industrial companies rely on traditional energy sources while also retrofitting and constructing processing and storage facilities for biofuels and other renewables. They’re actively exploring new energy forms and engineering infrastructure to support liquid natural gas, natural gas liquids, hydrogen, and ammonia.
The API Refrigerated Tanks Conference will focus on both refrigerated and cryogenic storage. It will provide a venue for information sharing specific to this storage, support initiatives towards acceleration of the technology, innovation, mitigation of emissions, and infrastructure advancement.
7 PDH (Professional Development Hours) / CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours will be provided for the October 8th API/STI-SPFA Course attendance.14 hours will be provided for the October 9-10, 2024 Conference. Together you can receive up to 21 hours.
Certificates available upon request following the Conference.

In his current role as COO at Buckeye Partners, Joe’s leadership is defined not only by his immense contribution to the company’s success, but also by his commitment to driving innovation, fostering excellence, and empowering future leaders. His focus on emotional quotient with an emphasis on team building through trust has been a cornerstone of his authentic leadership style.
You see it everywhere. People are always on their phones, even while eating. Nobody talks to each other anymore. People are texting to their co-worker at the adjacent desk. Our ability to communicate is deteriorating. In many ways, the Covid years have caused us to regress with meaningful conversations. Successful businesses rely on personal communication, trust, and relationships. We need to restore the power in relationships to succeed. The people we trust the most are our friends and that has never been more important in both our personal and business worlds.

Avoid Housing Scams
Note: API has not contracted with any third party for hotel arrangements and will not call or email you directly to make housing arrangements on your behalf.
Should you receive a call or email from a third-party provider, please collect as much information as you can and let us know immediately. “Room Poachers” have been known to act as representatives of API, or authorized providers of API, to offer room discounts or alternative accommodations to our attendees – often to the attendee’s detriment. These companies are not affiliated with API, and reservations made through these companies for our meeting cannot be guaranteed.
How It Works
This deceptive practice (called “room poaching”) is carried out by third‐party companies that act as travel agencies, wholesalers, or even API to solicit registrants for room reservations. The poacher might inform registrants that the hotel room block is “sold out,” and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room. Room poachers make it more difficult for us to meet our room block commitments and expose us to penalties and increased room rates for our events. Room poachers often don’t deliver on promises to customers. When customers arrive, reservations are non‐existent, or the hotels are not conveniently located. Sometimes the rooms have been cancelled and hefty cancellation fees have been placed on the customer’s credit card.
Don’t Be Deceived
If you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room for the API Conference, please get as much information as you can (their name, company name, phone number, etc.) and pass it along to [email protected]. Always make your room reservation directly with the information provided by API or a trusted source.
API will use all legal means possible to prevent these groups from operating.
Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
